Product Outline

Ultraviolet rays are kinds of rays and rays are kinds of electromagnetic waves. All rays have congenital wave lengths and are grouped broadly into 3 categories, Ultraviolet rays, Visible rays, and Infrared rays. Furthermore, ultraviolet rays are classified into 3 kinds, UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. Ultraviolet ray is the wavelength range which have chemical reaction, and Philips supply wide range of high performance ultraviolet lamps from UV-A to UV-C which apply various kinds of usages.

Feature/Sales Point

The Philips TUV lamps consist of a tubular glass envelope emitting short-wave ultraviolet radiation with a peak at 254nm for germicidal action. The Philips in-house made glass filters out the 185nm ozone forming line thus preventing from the creation of ozone.
A protective coating on the inside limits the depreciation of the useful UV-C output. It allows application manufacturers to design their systems to the highest efficiency.
Philips invented and pioneered the use of technology to reduce the mercury level of the lamps. As a result, it has been brought down to by far the lowest mercury level in UV lamps in the industry.

Use/Example

The Philips PL-S and PL-L lamps combine all the aforementioned benefits with a very compact design, and can be easily replaced because they are single ended lamps. The Philips TUV PL-S and PL-L lamps have specially adapted starters providing semi preheat starting characteristics already built into the lamp base.
